.... blessings that is. 

I had my indulgence in self-pity.  Time to brush off the dust and get back on my feet. 

One thing that was kinda cool from Nate's party is that I met another single mom.  I wouldn't say we will be best friends or that we even have that much in common, but it will be nice to have someone to get together with and let the kids play (her son is in Nate's preschool class). 

This morning I opened my email and she had included me in an email distribution that seemed timely for me.  I'd never seen it before, but thought I'd share it with my voxers (as we all struggle from time to time, that's one of the things that connects us):

"Appreciate your shortcomings for where they have brought you. Then release them and be free to rise above the limitations.  Savor the disappointments one last time and remember all you have learned from them. Then let them go and eagerly look forward to new and fruitful experiences.  Sincerely and completely forgive those who have brought you pain, including yourself. And feel the healing that immediately takes hold.  Be truly thankful for having been through so much. Then get busy creating the best of what can be.  Let go of the useless drama that is already over. • Knowing without a doubt that I deserve more from Life
• Having the determination to achieve everything I want
• Watching old black & white movies until I fall asleep
• Emails from school friends catching me up on their life

• Always left wanting more
• Exhaustion

• Not knowing where to go from here

• Hearing "MOMMY!" squealed from across the room when I picked the kids up from school
• Pool Monitor Orientation is officially over and everyone is trained
• KIMMIE IS MOVING BACK TO TEXAS!!!!
• My mom and all the wonderful stuff she does to keep me sane
• Passion-fruit flavored vodka
• New blanket --- mmm comfy!
• Getting a new book the sucks me right in

First, I am loving that my "things on tuesday" group has grown so large that I can't even keep up with all of the members and postings now.  I think its awesome that my little weekly lists have brought clarity, joy and fun to other people as well.

• Anticipating the look on her face when she gets her doggy
• Watching my babies sleep
• My family
• French Vanilla Coffee with Creme Brule creamer
• Converse All-Star Ballet Flat tennis shoes (black with white poka dots)
• Nate listening to me going over Jenna's spelling words and learning them himself
• Nate telling Jenna out of the blue "I love you sister"
• Jenna's new haircut (cute little bob)
• Being content

• Too much to do and not enough time to do it
• Living paycheck to paycheck
• Feelings of mistrust
• Bidding out new print vendors

• Having to take a pill to stay emotionally peaceful

I just realized I gotta find some stuff to be excited about Nate about... he's a loving little monkey, but he's testing every ounce of my patience these days.  He spends more time in time-out than anything else.  Sigh.

(since I was told my alliteration is faulty by having "things" on tuesday instead of thursday... sorry folks... my bad.)

• The wall color in my office... smoker dirty white
• 12 extra pounds I am carrying around
• Cold mornings that turn into warm afternoons... i want consistency

• Sherwin Williams Sand Dollar to be painted over the ugly color in my office
• Finding inspiration to write and good friends to give me advice
• Being able to roll the windows down and enjoy the hint of spring in the air
• Snow last night and kids playing in it this morning with shrieks of glee
• Having a plan
• Feeling loved

Things I LOATHE:

• Vacuuming the stairs
• Putting away clothes
• Asshat's tone of voice when he talks to me
• Being in same room with Asshat
• Wanting to scream "GO FUCK YOURSELF" but knowing I can't in court

Stella by Starlight

• Our new birdy Stella
• Jenna and Nate getting up excited to go check on her
• Having all the kids from the neighborhood in the house to check out our new bird - Jenna and Nate were local celebrities for the evening.  I love making them happy.
• Good conclusion to child support meeting with Asshat and Attorney General.  Everything is finally in black and white.
• Beautiful sunny weather
• My new couch
• Feeling at peace for the first time in a long time

Things I LOATHE:

• Goldfish all over the damn carpet
• Vacuuming
• Cold Coffee (unless it's a frappacino)
• Cranky kids in the morning when I am running late
• Not having a truck when I need one
• People who don't listen and then say "why didn't you tell me?"
• Saying "yes" when I really mean "no" and just don't want to offend or upset someone
• Coughing for 3 weeks in a row

• Working when I'd rather be sleeping

• A good glass of wine over dinner (last night had a baby bellini, chateau st jean chardonnay, and estancia cabernet savignon). mmmm
